- 95% of the Japanese respondents answered that they will invest as much or more than 2016, including 38% who intend to invest more.
- Global economic shock is the biggest concern for Japanese investors but worries have eased compared to last year’s survey— only 22% in 2017 vs 76% in 2016’s 76%.
- In contrast, 22% of respondents identified “overbuilding leading to excess supply” as a threat—up from 4% to 20%.
- Outbound investment by Japanese investors will likely continue to expand in 2017, driven by investment in North America, which was selected as the most attractive region for Japanese investors.
