One of the buzz words in the Danish real estate sector in 2018 will be ‘disruption’. Technology is rapidly advancing causing changes in the ways business is done in all industries. Some industries have felt an immediate impact, others, like real estate, are just about to embrace the digital transformation.But there are some real estate sectors that are more resilient to disruption or can even be regarded as disruptors themselves. These are for example residential properties for rent, self-storage and student housing.
In this report, CBRE takes a closer look at the student housing sector in Denmark. The apparent shortage of student housing seems to have awakened the investors’ interest. Although there is a significant number of projects announced for development, the shortage of accommodation will not be catered in the near future. CBRE tries to explain the demand/supply dynamics and the attractiveness of the sector as investment product.
