The investment volume in the extended CEE & SEE regions reached EUR 4.25 billion at the end of Q1 2020. In comparison with the first quarter of 2019, we can observe an increase of 24%. Eighty-three investment  transactions were concluded with an average ticket  size of EUR 51 million.

Even if Q1 was strong, the estimations for Q2 2020 are limited due to the impact of COVID – 19.

Many investors have now adopted a “wait-and-see” strategy, and virtually no new marketing processes are  launched, especially for the new transactions. The volume for 2020 is expected to experience a decrease  compared with last year, and the main investment products estimated to be traded this year will remain office and  industrial segment. In 2021 we will see a return to volumes in excess of EUR 1 billion, especially for Austria and CEE  countries, this on the back of our view that demand for property as an investment class generally will not be  impaired by this crisis.
