An Explosion of Investment
While the commercial real estate industry has lagged other sectors such as media and financial services in technology investments, the business has seen an explosion of activity driven by venture capital and industry leaders. Investment is pouring into software, artificial intelligence, machine learning and virtual reality.
Driving A Better Value Proposition
Key areas of emphasis include data management, enablement technologies and digital marketplaces where participants can buy, sell and trade real estate. The goal is to leverage technology to deliver a more sophisticated value proposition to clients.
Enablement Technology & Platforms
Technology platforms have adopted a concept called convergence. This model is exemplified by mobile devices that allow independent applications such as email, texts, photos, maps, and music to be built and enabled on one platform. With this model in mind, CBRE Capital Markets has curated a collection of independent applications such as a Customer Relationship Management system (Connector), a digital marketing hub (CBRE Deal Flow) and other applications that are interconnected, driving continuous connectivity between our professionals and clients.
The Role of Data
Data can be messy and chaotic and difficult to transform into actionable insights. CBRE has met that challenge by building a number of enablement tools, including CBRE Deal Flow, a global digital marketing hub to sell properties. CBRE digitally tracks each asset as it journeys through the marketplace, collecting data on how many confidentiality agreements are signed, who signs them, what part of the globe they come from, how many offers come to the table, the gap between bid and ask, etc. CBRE aggregates that proprietary data to identify trends in supply and demand, capital movement and other predictive analytics, empowering strategic decisions in real time for every client we serve.
